[edit]Etymology
[edit]Noun
[edit]hapsi
Finnish
[edit]Etymology
[edit]From Proto-Finnic *hapci, possibly from Proto-Uralic *ëpte, though the appearances of the initial h, as well as the unalternating internal cluster *pc > ps, are unclear (regular development from PU *ëpte would presumably produce Proto-Finnic **apci : **ahten (gen.) and from that, Finnish **apsi : **ahden).
Pronunciation
[edit]Noun
[edit]hapsi (literary)
- A single hair, especially a grey hair of an ageing person.
