Learned borrowing from Ancient Greek ἀναμειγνύω or ἀναμιγνύω (anamignúō). Morphologically, from ανα- (re-) + μειγνύω from the ancient μείγνυμι (meígnumi), also spelt μίγνυμι (mígnumi).
