Etymology

Semantic loan from French ériger from Ancient Greek ἐγκᾰθιδρῡ́ω (erect, set up in).[1] Morphologically, from εν- (εγ-) (in-) +‎ κατα- (-καθ-) (fully) +‎ ιδρύω (found).
