  1. strawberries (garden strawberry Fragaria × ananassa, green strawberry Fragaria viridis, or musk strawberry Fragaria moschata)

Usage notes

[edit]

Unlike in English, the Russian word "клубни́ка" is a collective noun. The plural form "клубни́ки" is only used to refer to different varieties of strawberry (e.g., wild or domestic). If one wanted to ask specifically for five strawberries, one would ask for "пять клубни́чек" ("five small strawberries"), "пять я́год клубни́ки" ("five berries of strawberry") or simply "пять я́год" ("five berries").
