[edit]Borrowed from Romanian leuștean, from Late Latin levisticum, from Latin ligusticum, from Ancient Greek λῐγῠστῐκόν (ligustikón, “bastard lovage”), from Λῐγῠστῐκός (Ligustikós, “Ligurian”). Compare Hungarian lestyán.
