Etymology

[edit]

From a rethought word structure под- (pod-) +‎ -слепова́тый (-slepovátyj), where под- (pod-) is loosely attached. Further from a forgotten подслéпый- (podslépyj-) +‎ -ова́тый (-ovátyj).

According to the restriction on the compatibility of morphemes within a word form: the dominant basic component cannot be combined with the dominant suffix, which requires stress to be placed to the right of the basic component.
