From the root שׁ־ע־ה (sh-'-).

Verb

הִשְׁעָה • (hish'á) third-singular masculine past (hif'il construction, passive counterpart הושעה / הֻשְׁעָה)

1. To be delayed or deferred to a later time.
2. To suspend: to temporarily removed from action.

   השעו את הקצין. ― hish'ú ét hakatsín. ― They suspended the officer.
