From Arabic عَاشِق (ʕāšiq, lover).

Compare to Uzbek oshiq, Turkmen aşyk, Kyrgyz ашык (aşık), Kazakh ғашық (ğaşyq), Bashkir ғашиҡ (ğaşiq), Turkish âşık (person in love, lover).
