Via Koine Greek Σολομών (Solomṓn) from Biblical Hebrew שְׁלֹמֹה (šĕlōmōʰ), a Biblical name from Hebrew שָׁלוֹם (šālōm, peace); compare Aramaic שְׁלָמָא (šlāmā) and ܫܠܳܡܳܐ (šlomo), derived independently from the original Semitic root.
