Borrowed from Arabic مُحَمَّد (muḥammad, praised, commendable, laudable). Doublet of আলহামদুলিল্লাহ (alhamdulillah), আহমদ (ahmod), হামদ (hamdo), হামিদ (hamid), and মাহমূদ (mahmud).
