Etymology
[edit]A compound of সুন্দর (śundor, “beautiful”) + বন (bon, “forest”), literally meaning "beautiful forest", referring to the natural beauty of the forest as well the abundance of sundari trees (Bengali: সুন্দরী; from the first element) in it.
