In view of Tigre ጎር (gor, in proximity of), which is, also a noun meaning “neighbour”, probably from Arabic جَار (jār, neighbour).

From Arabic جَار (jār, neighbour), maybe because Hararis checked in with the neighbours when they “went home”, or because being in someone’s “company” can be reinterpreted as his home.
