命乞い

Compound of 命(いのち) (inochi, “life”) + 乞(こ)い (koi, 連(れん)用(よう)形(けい) (ren'yōkei, “stem or continuative form”) of the verb 乞(こ)う (kou, “to beg”)). The koi changes to goi as an instance of rendaku (連濁).
