Gothic

[edit]

Etymology

[edit]

From π†πŒ°πŒΏπ‚πŒ°- (faura-) + a derivative of Proto-Germanic *fellΔ… (β€œskin”) with a suffix -𐌹 (-i). Probably literally meant β€˜foreskin’ in Gothic (and is defined as such in some dictionaries, e.g. KΓΆbler's), but that sense is unattested.
