- Forms the diminutive or affectionate form of nouns and adjectives.
- Forms the moderative, sometimes also contrarily the intensive degree of adjectives.
- аагтай цай (aagtaj caj, “strong tea”) + -хан (-xan) → аагтайхан цай (aagtajxan caj, “somewhat strong tea; quite strong tea”)
