Etymology[edit]
- (Limburg) (This etymology is missing or incomplete. Please add to it, or discuss it at the Etymology scriptorium.)
- (Zuid-Holland) First attested as buschusa in 1125-1130. Compound of Old Dutch busc (“forest”) and the plural form of hus (“house”). The current neighbourhood is named after a polder, which is named in turn after a former fiefdom.
