French terms that when used in a main clause to a subordinate clause, cause the verb in the attached subordinate clause beginning with que to take the subjunctive mood. However, when the term is negated or used interrogatively, the verb in the subordinate clause may be allowed to take the indicative mood instead of the subjunctive.
