Etymology[edit]
German+gully. From being a gully being worked by German-speakers. The naming date from the Victoria Gold Rush, when an influx of non-British immigrants resulted in communities that worked gullies to find gold, where those gullies were named after those ethnicities.

- A gully in Victoria, Australia; Any of several such gullies which were worked as goldfields during the Gold Rush.
