Etymology[edit]
Potentially attested as Attenhoven in 1553, attested with certainty as Nattenhoven in 1790. Potentially derived from a compound of Old Dutch Natto (“a personal name”) or Atto (“a personal name”) and the dative plural of hof (“farmstead, homestead”).
