Nullaussage f (genitive Nullaussage, plural Nullaussagen)

  1. (informal) A meaningless and insubstantial statement; one which, though it may not be incorrect as such, has no actual point or wisdom; a banality.
    Zu sagen: „Alles bedingt sich gegenseitig“, ist eine völlige Nullaussage.
    To say that “everything is interdependent” is an absolutely meaningless statement.
