Reconstruction

I assume the original form to be *furibeudaną based on the Gothic form. I also assume the meaning might originally have been "to command against (doing something)".

Old High German shows a form with the prefix fir-, which might show that there was another formation, *frabeudaną or *ferbeudaną, but it could also just show a process of transferring the word from one prefix to another. I'm not sure. Anglom (talk) 14:12, 15 September 2014 (UTC)Reply
