@Guldrelokk: Hi again. Why the different treatment between почва (počva) and подошва (podošva) if they both come from the exact same word? Is it due to some dialectal variation? Per utramque cavernam 11:40, 18 July 2018 (UTC)Reply

@Per utramque cavernam: It is formally possible to derive the variant почва from the genitive plural подъшьвъ > почевъ, unlikely as it seems. Compare изъ подъшевъ in the Hypatian Codex.
There is also a derivation from *podъšьvь (Czech počev m.), which would yield *подшевь ~ *подошви, whence почва and подошва with a transfer into a-stem. Guldrelokk (talk) 01:15, 23 December 2018 (UTC)Reply
