The -नी/-णी ending in the New Indo Aryan descendants (cf. Hindi and Marathi) can either be explained as a result of the term being derived from the stem pákṣman + ikā or from the plural nominative pákṣmāṇi + some pleonastic suffix, likely -ka- or -ikā-. -- 𝓑𝓱𝓪𝓰𝓪𝓭𝓪𝓽𝓽𝓪(𝓽𝓪𝓵𝓴) 06:20, 24 May 2023 (UTC)
