Is it really a native word? Malayalam entry പലക (palaka) says its from portuguese placa (also it would be പലകം (palakaṁ) if it was from skt), so all related words could be from pt i guess through Pt > Hindi > Skt AleksiB 1945 (talk) 13:24, 5 February 2023 (UTC)Reply

I found फलक (phalaka) instead. Perhaps this is misspelled or mistranslated. Should be removed. --Octahedron80 (talk) 13:27, 5 February 2023 (UTC)Reply
What is the etymology of phalaka if its native? AleksiB 1945 (talk) 17:32, 5 February 2023 (UTC)Reply
Can you interpret Williams (1899) फलक entry? It didn't mention any Hindi or Portuguese though. --Octahedron80 (talk) 10:11, 6 February 2023 (UTC)Reply
the only one [1] doesnt have the etymology, [2] doesnt have the etymology either, the Reconstruction:Proto-Indo-European/bʰelǵ- says its descendent from it but "bʰelǵ-" would actually yield भल्ज्- (bhalj-) or भर्ज्- (bharj-) not with ph and k AleksiB 1945 (talk) 17:57, 6 February 2023 (UTC)Reply
