Template problem

[edit]

The { { ja-def } } template is not working properly (apparently due to some limitation in the maximum number of processable parameters, which clearly should be increased). The male given name Akira has 10 kanji forms listed in the source code, but only the first 8 are actually showing in the rendered page, the last 2 dropped silently into oblivion for the reader, as they wonʼt be able to see them unless they serendipitously happen to click on the edit tab to access the pageʼs source code. Which happened to me only because I happened to already be aware of a kanji form (晃) that didnʼt appear listed, so I went ahead to add it and then, to my great surprise, I stumbled upon the fact that, voilà, it was actually already there in the source code, but completely invisible for anyone looking at the improperly rendered page. 92.178.80.48 15:01, 27 October 2022 (UTC)Reply

As a quick makeshift fix, Iʼve moved the two “hidden” kanji into a separate instance of the template, so that at least they become visible for the reader. Although the rendered result is still typographically imperfect, as each template instance adds its own colon at the end. So this works only as a temporary solution, which should be replaced with a better permanent solution by someone able to tweak the templateʼs code to fix the parameter-limit bug. 92.178.80.48 15:12, 27 October 2022 (UTC)Reply
