OED

[edit]

The OED (2nd ed.) has entries at Rus and Russ, with the former referring to the latter. At Russ are listed alternate forms 6 Rows(s)e, Rousse, 6–8 Russe, 7 Rush, 7– Russ. I don't know what the numbers represent—they seem to be too early for centuries. —Mzajac 22:32, 18 February 2008 (UTC)Reply

Rus'ian

[edit]

Regarding "Also compare Russian ру́сский ‎(rússkij, “Ethnic Russian, of Rus”)". Below there are two spellings of the adjective, pertaining to "Rus".

Therefore, here not "Rissian", but "Rusian" or "Rus'ian" must be. Yogi555 (talk) 07:46, 5 November 2016 (UTC)Reply

heritage

[edit]

This phrase has to be replaced (alternatively, the section should be removed).

"acknowledging that the Belarusian, Russian, and Ukrainian people share the heritage of Rus"

has to be changed for

"acknowledging that the Ukrainian people has the heritage of Rus: according to the scholarly consensus, until the 13th century, "Rus" was a name of northern parts of Ukraine (also referred to as "Rus in the narrow sense").".

Other drivel should be removed from the article as well. Surjection doesn't want to listen to arguments and seems to prefer to keep people ignorant. Here is the discussion with that user and Vininn126. https://en.wiktionary.org/w/index.php?title=Wiktionary:Tea_room/2023/September#Rus . My points are reflected there too. I've already explained to you clearly in Wiktionary:Tea room/2023/September#Rus why and how you are wrong. You are the one refusing to listen - nay, refusing to even understand what I am writing. — SURJECTION / T / C / L / 16:48, 28 September 2023 (UTC)Reply
I didn't see "why and how I'm wrong", Surjection. Daniel Poirot (talk) 18:38, 28 September 2023 (UTC)Reply
