I believe Kuki listed here: [1] may refer to Yuxi. And if you look at the map here: [2], the surrounding geography matches for Yuxi and Honghe Hani and Yi Autonomous Prefecture, but then there's "Kuki". Compare second syllable of 'Kuki' to Pen-ch'i under Nanking syllabary (Postal Romanization). For the first syllable: I assume the capital K is graphically similar and thereby confused with Y. Speculation. Here is an example of a graphical similarity creating a misspelling that is also a valid word: [3] for Huanggu / Huangqu.
