Tagalog: possibly from Japanese[edit]

@Mar vin kaiser apa is a very un-Japanese form. What is the basis of this claim? —Suzukaze-c (talk) 23:55, 30 October 2021 (UTC)Reply

@Suzukaze-c: Hi, I think this was asked before already in Wiktionary. That's the reason why I added the word "possibly", since it's in doubt. The thing here is that all official Tagalog dictionaries published in the 20th and 21st century, all of them note that the word apa is of Japanese origin, but doesn't indicate from what Japanese word it comes from, and as someone who has learned Japanese to a somewhat advanced level, I also can't think of which word it comes from. --Mar vin kaiser (talk) 04:16, 31 October 2021 (UTC)Reply
