Talk:blazar

Is the pronunciation correct? Isn't the first "a" a long "a" (as in "blazer", which I imagine this word is a play on)? Presumbly, too, the second "a" is either as in "car" and so should have a length mark, or unstressed and should be replaced by a schwa. Does this then rhyme with quasar? — Paul G 15:40, 29 Jun 2004 (UTC)

The pronunciation is correct, at least as a WEAE transcription, (though I'd use IPAfied SAMPA, and add a secondary stress mark thus /ˈbleɪˌzɑr/). And it would rhyme with quasar. —Muke Tever 19:01, 29 Jun 2004 (UTC)
