bucket job[edit]

This appears in some slang dictionaries, meaning a fraudulent company or some such thing. I couldn't find much use in Google Books, but e.g. there's this:

  • 2002, Australia. Parliament. House of Representatives, Parliamentary Debates (Hansard) (page 7469)
It was an attempt to mislead my office and to seek our cooperation with what turned out to be, and what always was going to be, a bucket job. It is not journalism; it is paranoia.
