I found this word while searching "cipate". I was curious to find out if "cipate" had a singular meaning besides the association with "anticipate". I was thinking that anticipate might mean more literally "against cipate". Does anyone know if "cipate" as a word or meaning exists? — This unsigned comment was added by 69.212.46.245 (talk).

- No, the English word comes from a Latin root anticipo. The same root shows up in recipio "to take, get back", but the root does not seem to exist independently in Latin. --EncycloPetey 04:06, 15 March 2007 (UTC)
