"Fear of timepieces". I'm not sure why this isn't chronometrophobia, but this gets more Google hits- pretty much all of "phobia list" variety, except for a song title. Chuck Entz (talk) 06:41, 19 May 2021 (UTC)Reply

I removed the obvious mentions from the citations, but that still leaves three, so I agree this is cited Kiwima (talk) 20:04, 19 May 2021 (UTC)Reply
@Kiwima: Is asking whether you are scared of something a mention? J3133 (talk) 20:05, 19 May 2021 (UTC)Reply
LOL, no, but since mentions don't count toward CFI, it does not make a lot of sense to leave them there. Kiwima (talk) 00:50, 20 May 2021 (UTC)Reply
@Kiwima: My point is you removed a quotation that asked readers whether they have chronomentrophobia or are afraid of clocks: how is that a mention? J3133 (talk) 00:53, 20 May 2021 (UTC)Reply
@J3133: The three cites I removed were "If you have a fear of clocks or time you may suffer from either chronomentrophobia or chronophobia." (i.e. the word for fear of clocks or time is called chronomentrophobia or chronophobia -- a mention), "If you suffered from chronomentrophobia would you be afraid of clocks, calendars, crows or cheese?" (i.e. which option is the meaning of chronomentrophobia -- a mention), and "What does someone fear if he or she has chronomentrophobia?" (i.e. what is the meaning of chronomentrophobia -- a mention). None of them asks the reader "do you suffer from chronomentrophobia?". Kiwima (talk) 01:15, 20 May 2021 (UTC)Reply
None of them where mentions. Defining a term or introducing a new term to a reader does not indicate mention: at best it will be use and mention at the same time. Man should prove first that use—mention is mutually exclusive. The same is to be deduced from teleological interpretation, if you don’t know what use and mention literally mean: In any case the contested quotes showed it is a real word and not a ghost word, which is what to exclude the use—mention distinction in the CFI aimed at. The mentro for metro really is weird. I bet one person made the error in a kooky phobia word list and everyone else copied it. Equinox 02:34, 23 May 2021 (UTC)Reply
I fear I am suffering from lexicographers’ phobecatalogophobia. Can we find sources disqualifying the term, as was done at coulrophobia (“idle pseudo-intellectuals”, ”smarty-pants”)?  --Lambiam 09:13, 24 May 2021 (UTC)Reply
Well, sometimes for ancient languages one lists a term under the correct spelling if only one or multiple wrong ones are attested. Fay Freak (talk) 20:28, 3 June 2021 (UTC)Reply
