Mandarin translation[edit]

Hello @Sorais Chorex and @Mahogany115, both of you have added Mandarin translations of deepfake, but the translations each of you added differ. In particular, Sorais Chorex added 換臉换脸 while Mahogany115 added 深偽深伪 (shēnwěi). Since you both list yourselves as competent in Mandarin (Sorais Chorex as native and Mahogany115 as near-native) I am wondering if both 換臉换脸 and 深偽深伪 (shēnwěi) might be terms for deepfakes that should be listed in the translation table, but ultimately I cannot know since my own Mandarin knowledge is barely above zero. Could y'all help clarify the situation? —The Editor's Apprentice (talk) 22:55, 20 July 2023 (UTC)Reply

Hi, it's Chorex here. Both words exist but actually I'm quite unfamiliar with the word "深伪" due to its infrequent occurrences on social media. "换脸" is used in almost all situations and can be affixed with "AI" to form "AI换脸". "深伪" sounds more formal and technological, which fewer people understand and use.
