Dimension, a measurment of 3 directions in space, or size, also an indication of extent or scope, importance, aspect. SO HOW MANY DIMENSIONS SHOULD WE CONSIDER TO BE DISCERNIBLE BY HUMANS?
In String Theory there are some 11 or so mathematical dimensions. How many can we count? Three in space, one in time (or motion), one in temperature, then there is radiation in the form of light or all other wavelenghts, and gravety in form of pull or weight or mass. That brings me to 7 physical aspects or dimensions. It's a start towards 11.
Or are temperature and wavelength just expressions of particle movements in space and time? Back to 5 dimensions?

Question concerning pronunciation[edit]
How do you pronounce the first "i" in dimension? The IPA implies that it is "i" as in "dime", but the audio example sounds more like "i" as in "dinner". Is both correct? Is the pronunctiation as in "dinner" same as in "dime" really correct, and only in AE? According to my two older BE-dictionarys (Oxford Advanced Learners, Langenscheidt)(only) the "dinner"-like pronunctiation is correct. According to another, newer one only the dime-like pronunciation.
