Meaning #3: without "się"?

[edit]

Based on the following pages: należy EN, należy PL, należeć PL,

należy seems NOT to require the clitic się in sense #3 ~ "ought to". Therefore the correct grammatical label might be "(intransitive)" for this one.

When expanded with się, the verb seems to have a somewhat different meaning.

@Javítgató That meaning is used only with verbs I believe. It probably could have a definition of its own. Vininn126 (talk) 08:39, 25 August 2023 (UTC)Reply
Actually, now that I think about it, it's covered by należy. It's just they are distinct lemmas. Vininn126 (talk) 08:40, 25 August 2023 (UTC)Reply
@Vininn126 I can agree with that, należy coupled with an infinitive is quite a specific branch of the verb należeć, close to being an auxiliary verb. And indeed it has been granted its own lemma.
Thanks for revising the article! I am also glad that my comment was addressed. Javítgató (talk) 09:35, 25 August 2023 (UTC)Reply
