If you're referring to the (modern) French entry, then yeah it can't be derived that Latin word. TLFi says it's a borrowing from sigla. While sceau is the inherited descendant of Latin sigillum, through a regularized Vulgar Latin variant *sigellum. Word dewd544 (talk) 00:59, 17 April 2018 (UTC)
