waive vs. wave

[edit]

Disregarding the spelling, do native speakers sometimes "feel" these as the same word? What I mean is that they're not only homophones but they come pretty close semantically in contexts like "waive something" ≈ "wave something away". 90.186.170.60 00:08, 21 August 2023 (UTC)Reply
