Etymology
[edit]Blend of Ukraine + copium (“a delusion meant to help someone cope with a loss”), influenced by Russian укро́п (ukróp), a slur towards Ukrainians.
Noun
[edit]Ukropium (uncountable)
- (Internet slang, offensive, derogatory) A form of wishful thinking in which Ukraine is expected to prevail against Russia in the Russo-Ukrainian war.
- 2 months later, no real panic with the first challenger being deleted. We can see that folks are just huffing tons of ukropium to keep their pretend reality from imploding
- They are all saying TIME is in Russia’s payroll now! That’s some serious hyper-Ukropium right there!
Usage notes
[edit]- Mostly used by supporters of the Russian invasion of Ukraine.
