- (Friesland) First attested as ferdingwier in the 15th century. Calque of West Frisian Fiifhús, a compound of fiif (“five”) and hûs (“house”).
- (Noord-Brabant) First attested as Vijfhuis in 1831. Compound of vijf (“five”) and huis (“house”).
