Borrowed from Russian Зинаи́да (Zinaída), cognate with the English historical name Zenaida, from Ancient Greek Ζηναΐς (Zēnaḯs), meaning "belonging to Ζεύς (Zeús)". Name of a first century saint venerated in the Eastern Orthodox Church. Doublet of Zenaida.
