From Early New High German allererst (adv.), from Middle High German allerērst, from Old High German allero ērist. By surface analysis, aller- (intensifying prefix) + eíscht (“first”). Compare Alemannic German allererscht, German allererste, Yiddish אַלערערשט (alerersht).
