Etymology

Inherited from Ottoman Turkish آكسزین (añsızın),[1][2] from آڭ (), equivalent to an (mind, perception, consciousness) +‎ -sız (without, -less) +‎ -ın, literally when one is without awareness, oblivious.[3]
