Vietnamese[edit]
Etymology[edit]
Borrowed from French acide sulfureux.
Noun[edit]
Usage notes[edit]
- The letter <n> is pronounced as the alveolar consonant /n/ by southern speakers, rather than the usual velar /ŋ/.
- The letter <r> is more r-like for northern speakers, closer to the trill /r/ or the retroflex fricative /ʐ/ rather than the alveolar fricative /z/.
