Etymology

Inherited from Ottoman Turkish بالخاصه (bilhassa),[1] from Arabic بِالْخَاصَّة (bi-l-ḵāṣṣa), from بِـ (bi-) +‎ اَلْ (al-) +‎ خَاصَّة (ḵāṣṣa),[2] equivalent to bil- +‎ hassa (specialty, feature).
