Borrowed from Ottoman Turkish بوزطوغان (bozdoğan). Cognate with Bulgarian боздуга́н (bozdugán, mace), Hungarian buzogány (mace), Polish buzdygan (mace), Macedonian боздоган (bozdogan, mace), Serbo-Croatian буздован (mace), etc.
