< French dromologie < Ancient Greek δρόμος (drómos, race, running, racetrack, course, path) + λόγος (lógos, account, explanation, narrative); term coined by the French philosopher Paul Virilio to discuss the importance of speed in warfare and communication. Equivalent to dromo- +‎ -logy.
