Swedish[edit]
Etymology[edit]
Verb[edit]
fara illa (present far illa, preterite for illa, supine farit illa, imperative far illa)
- to be in a harmful situation (often due to external factors)
- barn som farit illa
- maltreated children (for example)
Usage notes[edit]
Intuitively closer to "end up" than "be," but "Han far illa" means ongoing harm, hence the translation.
