Etymology[edit]

haliucinuoti (to hallucinate) +‎ -cija (tion). Alternatively, borrowed from Belarusian галюцына́цыя (haljucynácyja) or Ukrainian галюцина́ція (haljucynácija), hence -liu- rather than -lu-.
