Cognate with Munsee kíhkay (“chief”) , Mahican keʔkaw (“leader”), Mohegan-Pequot kuhcayhs (“elder, old man”), Menominee keckīw (“elder, old person, ancestor”). related to kìkayu (“he is old”).
