Particularly: “Not mentioned at all by Ratliff or Heimbach. Attested in speech,[1] as well as hmongvocabulary.com.[2] Sort of resembles a clipping of Chinese 無賴无赖 (wúlài, “scoundrel”), or perhaps from (lián, “to connect, involve, ally”).”
